No laundry?

Why is it when we can't use the appliances we feel the need to wash everything?  My husband is disbanning our laundry room/second bathroom today in order to level the concrete floor.  This means he has to pull the washer/dryer out of the space for at least a day if not two, and of course I feel the need to wash bedding and blankets.
This is what the floor currently looks like.  We are hoping to level it so we can put tile down.  I will keep you posted on if it is successful or not.

I thought I would share a picture of our upstairs Christmas tree.  It is snowman themed.  I found the idea a few years ago in Weston during their home tours.  I love putting this one up each year.
Due to my crazy life my kids had to decorate this one by themselves this year so the decorations are not distributed very well. I still love it!

Here is another Pinterest project I did this year.  This was a shirt for my son when he was small.  It's a joke amongst my teacher friends.  We had our staff Christmas party about the time he was conceived so they liked to call him our "bonus."  My youngest daughter actually asked Santa for a baby brother that year(to our surprise!), and it wasn't too long after we found out we were pregnant. Surprise! He was born in September of the next year.  Anyway we found this shirt when he was little and had to buy it because it was so fitting of our joke. I used the shirt to make a forever Christmas decoration by attaching it to a canvas.  I think I might add a trim or ribbon so I can hang it easier, but still pondering that one.  What projects have you made that reuses a token of memories?

Does anybody else love cleaning things out?  This is the time of year that I clean out the playroom and any other place in the house that needs it.  Today I listed multiple items on a facebook swap site and sold toys, clothes, and teaching resource books! I have lots more to list and sell but I am loving moving it from my house to my car and into hands of someone that needs it!

On another note, my son got Skylander Giants for Christmas and is loving it! He stayed up late last night playing it, got up early this morning to play it and has been going all day!  His 15 yr. old sister is just as addicted and has been arguing with him all day about it.
What presents are a hit in your house this year?

This is a Pinterest project we did for the grandparents. Each one of my kids drew a picture on a tea towel so they received a nice set of holiday towels. The kids really enjoyed doing this and watching the grandparents open the gifts.  I love giving personal gifts, it really pulls my kids into the giving spirit and keeps them involved in what to do each year.
I have a couple more projects I have made over this break so far.  I will hopefully post them before they get packed away till next year.

Merry Christmas!

Last night was time with my parents and siblings.  Kids all had a ball playing with each other and my parents were very good this year! My mom and dad made each one of us a plaque with our initial on it, love it.
Today the kids enjoyed opening their gifts from santa and us.  Let's just say Steve Jobs would be very at home in our house today! ha ha
We did enter the modern world and get a blue ray player finally, so are enjoying a day of movie watching!
Hope this Christmas finds everyone blessed with family and friends.

Welcome to my new hobby!

I have been wanting to dip my skills into blogging for a couple years now, so I decided to go ahead and try it!  I am a crazy busy teacher, mom, grad student, and wife.  I am hoping to document my life in all of these areas for you all to read.
